“More than Love” Sofi Tukker Trevor Hall Remix

This laid-back, mellow remix of Trevor Hall’s recent release of In and Through the Body is a banger.

It features the folk artist’s voice with a redone track that builds throughout the 5:32 of the playtime

A dialed-down drum and bass backtrack is accompanied with an acoustic guitar and backing vocals. Handclap samples provide the rhythm that pushes through the entire piece. The riff reminds us, exactly, what is “More Than Love.

Reflexology: Pressure, it’ll help you Be (tune of David Bowie)

You may have an entire doctor’s bag worth of tools with your own two hands.

Reflexology is an amazing tool that you can use to improve your health. It has a short learning curve, and can be used for everything to relieve pain, to induce labor and to cause relaxation.

Being someone raised with allopathic medicine, my initial bias to reflexology has definitely changed.

The body is a vehicle for our souls, and with proper maintenance we can live healthy and well.

Using the traditions of Eastern medicine, including reflexology, has measured and proven benefits.

Being comfortable with your feet, looking at them, massaging them, and touching them is important for self esteem as well as actual health.

The science of reflexology makes sense intuitively— our feet literally support our whole bodies.

I think that if you are experiencing health concerns, then integrating reflexology as a form of self care creates a foundation for total body health.

I was inspired to write this blog post because sometimes anxiety causes me to have shortness of breath.

I found myself intuitively grabbing my foot and pressing in one spot, and then having better breathing.

Running around barefoot (or walking) also has the benefit of grounding, for the whole body.

Ears also have points. Intentionally getting piercings in corresponding parts can benefit the organs.

I definitely have healthy legs and I believe it is in part because of the piercing I have in the rook area. It also may be because I regularly walk more than five miles a day 😅

If you don’t want a piercing, then acupuncture works too.

Gently pressing or tapping an area has benefits. Give it a try for yourself!

Reflexology can help heal the body from head to toe… literally!

In reflexology, you basically press parts of your body to stimulate the corresponding body parts or organ system.

I then looked up a foot chart and exactly where I was pressing was the spot for lungs!

Just like the feet, the hands have points that correspond to certain parts of the body.

If you notice any changes on your hands or feet, see if it corresponds to any particular organ in your body.

You can also ask a friend, acupuncturist, or reflexologist for help 🙂

Today I watched a livestream with Deepak Chopra on the author’s Instagram page.

I had been receiving text updates from the author periodically, with metaphysical quips and timeless words of wisdom that made me feel acknowledged through the community texting service. A few celebrities use it, and I value that Deepak does not use it for self promotion so much as for planting seeds of enlightenment and hope.

He was having a conversation with Eva Longoria. The actress looked radiant, and Deepak had a serene smile on his face, sitting in an orange room with an open design.

The conversation turned to the organization Love in Action. Their candid discussion of mental health issues, including anxiety, was refreshing.

The theme of “never alone” is something that is continually reinforced in various spheres of influence.

Even as recently as my childhood, women raised children together in groups to help with parenting and caretaking duties.

The over emphasis on autonomy and ”independence” in Western society has created an alternate pandemic of women without the support structure of womanly nurturance we have had since time began.

Anecdotally, I was walking down the street near the park. I made eye contact with a woman I didn’t know and she whispered ”hi” and kept on walking.

It made me feel so happy inside, just a simple greeting.

Truly, human beings thrive on connection. The modern phenomena of isolation can be difficult at times to deal with, and technology has the ability to help– as well as further divide.

Eva also mentioned the Domino Effect of Women Helping Women.

The main takeaway:

She mentioned that empowering women has a domino effect on communities and families, as a woman will always use her resources to support her family.

Men need to understand that helping women makes the world stronger. I know a few shining examples in my life and they give me hope for the future.

There are many tools available where we can help to support women. One that she mentioned was microloans, which is something I have done in the past.

Websites like Kiva let you read about the projects of people from all over the world.

It helps put in perspective how much a sum as small as $25 can shape lives.

She also mentioned how Marianne Williamson was a mentor and friend to her. Marianne really has carved out a name for herself as a pioneer in the area of spirituality and self empowerment.

Although she did not receive the nomination, she did campaign to be a Presidential candidate for the 2020 election.

Deepak has his pulse on the consciousness and need for the planet to rise in feminine power.

HThere needs to be balance and respect for both sides of the coin. A woman’s way is not ”wrong, ” she is simply not created to act as a man and as a woman.

Healthy Weeknight Meals

We all love to eat. Many of us also love to cook, but with work, family, and then the clean up after, cooking can sometimes feel like a chore at the end of a busy day.

Many people will pick up their phone and call their favorite take out place or simply heat up a frozen meal. often tempting to throw a ready meal in the oven or call for take out. But preparing a simple and healthy family meal doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming. Here are some quick wholesome dishes that you and your family will love. They can even be prepared in advance.

I chose three meals that are my go-to when I want something delicious and savory without a lot of effort.

  1. Roasted Chicken and Vegetables

When I discovered how easy it was to roast chicken to make a delicious meal, I ate it every day for two weeks. Even now, roasted potatoes is one of my favorite meals for when I want something that fills my tummy and is super nutritious to eat as well.

All you need is a Pyrex and a toaster oven, and you are good to go. Coat with salt, pepper, and olive oil, and it is a easy meal that takes seconds to prepare, literally. All you have to do is wait for it to be finished!
